The runaway fires in Cape Town have resulted in devastating destruction of historic buildings, university residences, important libraries and literature, homes and much infrastructure and natural environment in the city. Our hearts and best wishes go out to everyone affected by this tragedy and we salute the first responders, community and NPOs for acting so swiftly to not only contain the flames, but assist people and animals in need during this time.
