Charities Aid Foundation Southern Africa (CAFSA) is appealing to all South African citizens, corporates, and other key stakeholders to assist registered NPOs in providing much-needed help to communities affected by the tragic violence that occurred this week.
As the country counts the terrible cost of this week’s unrest in KwaZulu-Natal and parts of Gauteng, many NPOs will have already started providing assistance where they can.
What makes this situation more challenging is that South Africa is facing battles on two fronts, with the COVID-19 pandemic still having a major impact across our nation’s communities.
More than any time ever, NPOs need your support now. This can take many forms — from monetary donations to helping on the ground and even virtual assistance.
Since 1997, CAFSA has helped NPOs get validated and ensure that they are properly registered so as to accept assistance from the likes of major corporations and philanthropists. In turn, donors have ensured that their funds help South Africans in the best way possible.
Therefore, we appeal to South Africans to contact us if you can provide any kind of assistance to these NPOs, whether monetary or in volunteering support. We can then connect you with the relevant organisation on the ground.
With Mandela Day on Sunday 18 July, there is no greater time than now to step in and help.
CAFSA is an independent non-profit organisation (NPC Number: 014-831) (PBO: 930002036) that promotes and facilitates effective giving, volunteering and social investment.
