Kelvin Glen appointed Vice Chairman of CAF Southern Africa

We're pleased to announce that Kelvin Glen has been appointed Vice Chairman of CAF Southern Africa.

Kelvin has served as a Non Executive Director of CAFSA since 2012, where he has added incredible value and support to CAFSA through his knowledge, expertise and experience in South Africa's philanthropic and civil society sector.


“As a CAFSA Board Member, Kelvin has been focused on growth, fundraising and project management, and we are looking forward to his ongoing, strengthened role as Vice Chairman. We are honoured that Kelvin has accepted this position, and appreciate his ongoing commitment to CAFSA,” said Gill Bates, CEO of CAFSA. 



Kelvin has spent the majority of his working life in the social sector, he started off at the Red Cross and has worked in a variety of international, national and local NPOs focusing on healthcare, conservation, education, crime prevention and schools’ programmes.


Kelvin also has experience in the corporate world, where he was tasked by Tiger Brand to set up its Foundation, establishing the country’s first public private partnership, implementing South Africa’s first in-school breakfast feeding programmes.


Currently, Kelvin established and is a Director of an SMME that assists corporates and NPOs strengthen, communicate and fundraise. Kelvin is also currently Executive Director of Methodist Homes for the Aged and Non-Executive Director of SA Care Forum.


“It is an honor and privilege to be elected by my peers to serve as Vice Chairman of CAFSA. CAFSA has so much to do in the space of civil society on the continent and I look forward to offering support to the Chairperson, my fellow Board Members as well as the Management team to ensure that CAFSA continues to be a leader in this sector. I look forward to the learnings and my personal growth on this journey,” said Kelvin.    


In his position as Vice Chairman, Kelvin will be working closely with the CAFSA office team, Board of Directors and Chairman, Jo Pohl, to assist the organisation to achieve its goals and objectives.
